Nanda was a popular and talented Indian film actress who worked in Hindi cinema from the 1950s to the 1990s. She was born on January 8, 1939, in a Marathi-speaking family in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Her real name was Nandamuri Vijaya Devi. She began her career as a child artist in the 1950 film 'Mandir,' and later made her debut as a heroine in the 1956 film 'Toofan Aur Diya.' She appeared in more than 50 films, including 'Hum Dono,' 'Ittefaq,' 'Gumnaam,' 'The Train,' 'Jab Jab Phool Khile,' and 'Prem Rog.' Nanda won several awards for her performances, including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film 'Aanchal' in 1981. She retired from acting in 1992 after her husband's death. Nanda passed away on March 25, 2014, at the age of 75 due to a heart attack.
